Win-Win Supermarket Transaction
Many ordinary shoppers feel cheated if they find out that their friends and colleagues got the same goods at another supermarket at a much cheaper price. We don’t think it’s a form of cheating anyway. He voluntarily shopped at a certain grocery store. If he were compelled to shop, then we think it is cheating. We cannot do anything about the different prices the stores imposed on the same goods. There are hundreds of economic factors to take into account. The price can be affected by supply, demand, location of the store, number of employees, overhead cost of operations, etc. However, we discovered one way to water down the supposed anomaly in the prices in the supermarkets. There is a website called Mysupermarket.co.uk which provides its users a program to check and compare the prices of the four major grocery chains. If a certain grocery store like sainsbury shopping for example is selling goods at a much lower price at a given time, the buyer would get the information. He would then be aided by such information in coming up with a proper decision whether to buy the goods or not. It is his decision whether to choose the grocery store selling the goods at the cheapest price or not. If his reason tells him that the second cheapest is the best, then that choice is his to make. What about common commodities like hendricks gin? Well, it is the same. The website will help the consumer discover which among the four major retailers is selling the gin at the lowest price.
